Amidst the rising number of missing persons, the Parliamentary Committee on National Security is likely to finalize its recommendations to resolve the issue in its meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
Sources say that missing persons’ issue had aggravated recently, particularly in Balochistan, where security forces and intelligences agencies have been blamed for abducting people, especially political workers of various Baloch outfits.
The recommendations of this committee would particularly focus on defining the role of security forces and secret agencies in the issue. They would be aimed striking a balance between national security and human rights issues, as forced disappearances were termed gross violations of the human rights.
The committee would emphasize on a proper trial of people accused of being involved in anti-state activities.
