Jam Yousaf granted bail in Bugti murder case

Balochistan High Court (BHC) granted interim bail to former Chief Minister of the province, Jam Muhmmad Yousaf in the Bugti-murder case, on Monday.
The two-member bench of BHC comprised of Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mengal. Hearing the pre-arrest bail petition filed by the ex chief minister, Justice Mandokhel questioned Yousaf, “how is it possible, that you being the chief executive of Balochistan, were unaware about the operation in your province. If you had not been taken into confidence, why did you not resign in protest?”
“People should understand the repercussions of supporting a ‘dictator’ (Pervez Musharraf),” he added.
Mandokhel said, the fact that the FIR had been registered in December 2010, and Yousaf was consulting the court after two years, showed that he had neglected court orders on purpose.
The bench approved a three week interim bail against a bond of RS 2,000,000. Notices were also issued against the Home Ministry and other departments regarding the case.
The hearing has been adjourned till August 6.
