Cairo: US Secretary of State Clinton meets newly-elected Islamist Egyptian President Morsi on Sunday, pledges support for democratic transition. Later, she met with Field Marshal Tantawi, the military ruler after President Hosni Mubarak. Afterwards, he said, “The military will not allow one group to dominate the country”. (July 16)
As against democratic norm the world over – the nick-naming of the majority elected party as ‘one group’ and their rule as ‘to dominate’, amounts to creative use of English for some extra-constitutional purposes.
