The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has barred National Police Foundation (NPF) of using residential plots for commercial purposes in O-9 Sector of the foundation.
In a stay order issued here by Justice Muhammad Azeem Khan Afridi, the IHC has directed the foundation to refrain from this practice immediately.
The Court also ordered the foundation to restrain from further construction on those residential plots, which have already been converted into commercial plots.
The order has been passed on a petition filed against the foundation by the residents of the National Police Foundation, O-9 Islamabad. During course of hearing, one of the residents of the society, Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam, apprised the bench that the decision of converting the residential plots for commercial purposes is against the relevant laws and the agreement existing between the foundation and the allottees. After hearing the arguments, the bench ordered the NPF management to restrain from further conversion of residential plots into commercial ones.
IESCO issues powers suspension programme: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Monday issued power suspension programme in various areas due to necessary maintenance and routine development work.
According to the IESCO spokesman, power supply of the areas falling under the following grid stations/feeders would remain suspended as under: July 18 (Wednesday from 7am to 11am, Peshawar Road feeder, Millatabad feeder, Peshawar Road, Chour Chowk, Millatabad from 7am to 12pm, Tench Bhatta feeder, Cantt feeder, Radio Pakistan feeder, Lalkurti feeder, AWT feeder, GHQ feeder, Tench Bhatta, Harley Street, Bakramandi, Radio Pakistan, Dhoke Syedan, Lalkurti, AWT, GHQ and surrounding area.
