Gang busted; 12 outlaws arrested

The Islamabad police busted a gang of dacoits and arrested 12 outlaws from various areas of the city besides recovering hashish, 17 bottles of liquor and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.
Assistant Sub Inspector Bilal Ahmed from Koral police arrested two dacoits Temur and Abdul Basit, red-handed when they tried to snatch cash from Abdul Waheed at gunpoint. The police also recovered a 30-bore pistol from them.
Sub Inspector Muhammad Yousuf from Aabpara police station arrested two thieves, Sajid and Raees Khan, and recovered stolen items worth Rs 75,000 from their possession. ASI Muhammad Anar also arrested a thief, Zulfiqar.
Sub-Inspector Shahid Mehmud from Secretariat police station arrested a drug pusher Raja Hameed for possessing 800 grams hashish. ASI Najeeb Ullah of Ramna police station arrested Temur and Azam during routine patrolling for possessing five bottles of liquor.
ASIs Arshad Mehmud and Arif Hussain from Sabzi Mandi police station arrested Tahir and Yousuf Khan for having two 30-bore pistols while Sub Inspector Ajmal Khan from Tarnol police nabbed Shah Faisal in possession of knives which he used during a scuffle.
Sub Inspector Muhammad Aslam of Women police station apprehended Nabeela Bibi, Maqsoodan Bibi and Shaheen Bibi for their alleged involvement in theft activities.
Sub-Inspector Javed Iqbal from Shehzad Town police arrested Nawaz Masih for possessing 12 bottles of liquor. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.
IIUI to hold inauguration
ceremony of daycare centre: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) will hold the inaugural ceremony of its newly constructed gymnasium and daycare centre at the Female Campus on Thursday (today).
The construction work of gymnasium and daycare centre at the Female Campus of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has been completed. Federal Minster for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira is likely to be the chief guest on the occasion while IIUI President Prof Dr Sahibzada Sajid-ur-Rehman shall preside over the ceremony.
