Besides impeccable defense of sea frontiers, Pakistan Navy has always been forthcoming in service of nation through its relief and rehabilitation support, whether be it an earthquake, flood or any natural calamity. The prevalent scarcity of water in Balochistan due to scarce water resources and marginal rains has adversely affected a common man, and the situation has now risen to alarming limits.
The prime minister taking notice of the current situation requested Pakistan Navy to provide all possible relief to the residents of Balochistan’s coastal cities, especially in Gwadar and Ormara. Pakistan Navy utilising its own resources promptly dispatched two tankers; PNS MOAWIN and PNS MADADGAR to Gwadar with approximately 1,100 tonnes of fresh drinking water onboard. This water was distributed to area residents in coordination and consultation with local district administration. The PN has tasked more ships to continue the supply of water to the coastal areas.
