In yet another development, Pakistan Agriculture Research Counsel (PARC) has reinstated its 269 sacked employees and the joining letters have also been issued to the employees.
An official familiar with the development told “Online” that earlier, the former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s order regarding restoration of 269 sacked employees was flatly refused by Pakistan Agriculture Research Counsel as its Board of Governance (BoG) had re-sent the case along with Federal Minister for Food Security and Research Mir Israr Ullah Zehri’s recommendation to the establishment division for its review.
“Federal Minister Mir Israr Ullah Zehri’s was not in favour of reinstating 269 sacked employees of PARC that was why he stopped the restoration process of sacked employees and asked that the Board of Governance should be allowed to decide the fate of employees,” said the official.
Official told the establishment division had rejected the recommendations of Board of Governance and directed to the research counsel for implementing the then prime minister’s orders regarding the restoration of 269 sacked employees.
When contacted, Chairman Pakistan Agriculture Research Counsel Naveed Salimi he confirmed that the services of 269 sacked contract and regular employees of PARC have been regularised and they have also joined their respective duties.
“The credit for reinstatements of sacked employees of PARC goes to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as I just acted as a symbolic signatory official,” Chairman added.
It is relevant to mention here that the then Federal Secretary Ministry of National Food Security and Research Shafqat Hussain Naghmi told the recently held National Assembly Standing Committee of National Food Security and Research that PARC Board of Governance has no right to roll back Prime minister’s order regarding the restoration of 269 sacked employees and Premier orders should be implemented in letter and spirit as the recommendations of Board of Governance have no significance against the prime minister’s order that was why he had written descending note.
