Pakistan Navy (PN) on Sunday distributed 1100 tonnes of fresh drinking water to the residents of coastal areas of Gawadar and Ormara.
According to details, on special directives of the Prime Minister to PN to provide all possible relief to the residents of Balochistan’s coastal cities, especially in Gawadar and Ormara, PN utilised its own resources and dispatched two tankers, PNS MOAWIN and PNS MADADGAR, to Gawadar with approximately 1100 tonnes of fresh drinking water onboard.
The water was distributed among the area residents in coordination with the local district administration. PN had also tasked more ships to continue with the supply of water to the coastal areas.
Commander Coast Rear Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi supervised the said relief efforts on behalf of PN. He had also briefed the PM during his recent visit to Quetta regarding the short and long term water arrangements for the affected areas of Gawadar and Ormara.
The prevalent scarcity of water in Balochistan due to scarce water resources and marginal rains had adversely affected the common man.
