Hoti escapes terrorism bid

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw Amir Haider Hoti narrowly escaped a terrorism bid on Monday as police seized a truck laden with five pounds (200 KG) of explosive material and huge cache of heavy weapon on Taal Road near Hangu where Ameer Haider Hoti was scheduled to pass through for a rally in Hangu city.
District Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed told the media that police intercepted a suspicious truck on Taal Road near Hangu. During search, police recovered several bags full of explosive material weighted 200 km and other sophisticated weapons.
The DPO said that police arrested two terrorists on board and shifted them to undisclosed place for investigation.
He said, these terrorists had planned to smash a explosive laden truck with Chief Minister’s convoy which was scheduled to pass through minutes after.
Hangu, city of troubled north western province of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw bordering with lawless tribal belt has been witnessing the worst terror activities for a decade, which killed hundreds of people.
