Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munnawar Hassan on Sunday said people should block NATO supply routes.
He was addressing a rally – held to protest the restoration of NATO supplies – that started from Masjid Boulton Market and passing through reached through MA Jinnah Road reached Kemari, from where the NATO containers leave for Afghanistan.
Munnawar said the decision was against the wishes of the people of Pakistan.
Urging the people to rise against pro-American rulers, he said Pakistanis would not accept dictation from the US.
Hasan accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of retracting from their commitments to cooperate against the government’s steps.
“People will ask questions if these two parties remain silent on the government’s policies,” he said.
He said there seemed to be no end to problems, including long power cuts, unrest and gas load shedding.
