CTP making efforts to remove encroachments

City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi in coordination with departments concerned is conducting operations against encroachers aimed at clearing the city roads for the smooth flow of traffic to provide relief to the motorists. City Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah said that the operations are being conducted on the special instructions of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Capt (retd) Muhammad Zubair. Under several operations conducted so far, a large number of vegetable and fruit handcarts and other goods were confiscated and handed over to the staff concerned of Rawal Town, Potohar Town and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board. A number of encroachers have also been issued warnings. The CTP is taking action against encroachers and conducting special operations for the removal of encroachments from city roads aimed at solving traffic problems of the city, he said. He said that several raids under a grand anti-encroachment operation were conducted at Chungi no 22, Tench Bhatta, Peoples Colony, Harlay Street, Kalma Chowk, Masrial Road, Westrige Bazaar, Dhoke Saydian Chowk, Glass Factory, Fawara Chowk, Iqbal Road, Bara Market, Bohar Bazaar, Scheme No 1, Raheemabad and other areas.
