Minister of State for Interior Imtiaz Safdar Warraich on Friday told the National Assembly that following the reduction in petroleum prices, public transporters in federal capital had also decreased fares.
In a call-attention notice in the NA on Friday, Minister of State for Interior Imtiaz Safdar said that Islamabad transporters are following routes and formal fare list, adding that the provincial governments concerned were responsible for reduction in fares in other cities.
While responding to a question of Nausheen Saeed, 28 vehicles had been challaned and four vehicles taken into custody over road violations.
He further added that decrease in fares will bring some kind of relief to the ill-fated masses in this regard.
