Hunerkada College of Visual and Performing Arts here Friday displayed exquisite collection of oil paintings by Pakistani German artist Hanif Abdul. The show entitled `Present Existent and Inevitable’ depicts the ideas of the self-taught artist of Pakistani origin, living and working in Frankfurt, Germany. Hanif Abdul’s work reflects a flamboyant style that derives inspiration from Greats such as Kindinsky in its modulation of shapes, use of lines, color, marks and special organization. His compositions are marked by spontaneity and rigorous movement and bind him with abstract expressionists. Born in 1962, Hanif Abdul originally hails from Rawalpindi where he, as a young boy, initially learned from local signboard artists but later became inclined towards self-expression and moved to Germany as a full-time artist. He exhibits his work in mainstream galleries throughout Germany and other European countries. He has considerable facility in oil, acrylics and mixed media work. The exhibition on display includes 19 of his new works displaying a commendable level of skill, spontaneity and playfulness which can only be achieved after a serious pursuit of clarity and hard work, said the organizers. Hunerkada Gallery, a part of Hunerkada College; being unique in its cause, spotlights fresh and imminent talent and strives to provide a launch pad for professionals and talented amateurs.
