Formanites’ Futsal Tournament kicked off yesterday here at Forman Christian College ground.
Unlike the regular football rules where a team comprises of eleven players, the number of players in futsal is reduced to five-a-side. The playing field gets shorter while the red and yellow card system remains the same and rolling substitution is allowed throughout the match.
A total of eight teams have registered for the tournament. The opening match was played between Looney Tones FC and Silver Balls FC which remained as a one-sided encounter as the former won by scoring eight goals to two.
Aizaz Izzat remained the top scorer of the match with four goals while Sachel Ghani scored twice and one goal each was scored by Shamsher Niazi and Ammar Shah. The duration of the match was 40 minutes. The tournament would end after one week.
