The Supreme Court (SC) declared to indict the real estate tycoon Malik Riaz on July 16 in contempt of court case, according to a local TV channel.
A three-judge bench of Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Ejaz Afzal and Justice Athar Saeed heard the case against Riaz.
The Supreme Court has appointed the attorney general as the prosecution lawyer for the case.
Earlier, Riaz had been issued a show-casue notice for hurling allegations against Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in a press conference held on June 12
In today’s hearing, Advocate Abdul Basit, Malik’s counsel, requested the court to allow Riaz to travel abroad for treatment and exempt him from court proceedings.
