The paramedical staff of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is still waiting for complete implementation of the service structure announced for them by former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in February last year.
The non-implementation of the service structure also created unrest among more than 100 paramedics who are now thinking about option of going on strike to press for their demand. “We will be forced to go on strike if promotions are not allowed according to the service structure in letter and spirit,” they said, adding that the promotion to next pay scales was their right.
