Police failed to maintain law & order in Balochistan: CJ

Supreme Court has granted two days time to IG police to produce Mahmood ul Hassan, a missing person, before the Court.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked on Thursday that police had failed to maintain law and order in Balochistan.
A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain resumed hearing of petitions on law and order and human rights violations in the province at Quetta registry of the court.
The CJ ordered the IG police to ensure recovery of one abducted person (Mahmood ul Hassan), who was kidnapped from Dilbadin area, after hearing the statement of Mahmood ul Hassan’s wife, as she informed the court that the kidnappers were moving freely and no one, including police dared to visit Faisal Town of Dilbadin area.
During the proceeding, the CJ observed that crime ratio was comparatively high in police-controlled area than the Levis force-controlled area as five percent area was controlled by police and 95 percent area by the Levis force respectively while police controlled area had become hub of all criminal activates.
Confessing the defeats, Interior Secretary Naseeb Ullah Jan replied that the police had solved some cases successfully, upon which, the CJ directed the IG police to maintain the government writ in the area, which was zero, as people do not fear from law enforcement agency, including police Levis and other agencies.
The CJ while pointing to DIG Investigation said the criminal activities were going on under the nose of the police.
DIG Investigation replied that the police were working hard to recover Jamia Salifia director, who was kidnapped two days back and abducted Mokaish Kholy.
The court said the police had used BLA name to protect its own skin.
Meanwhile, parents of one kidnapped person (Muhammad Hussain) appeared before the court and accused Provincial Interior Minister Mir Zafar Ullah Zoheri for kidnapping their son.
Mir Zafar Ullah Zoheri’s lawyer informed the court that his client was innocent and all the allegations leveled against him were baseless.
Investigation police DIG supported the Mir Zafar Ullah Zoheri’s lawyer arguments and called the case as a conspiracy to get money from the minister.
Upon which, the CJ remarked that if the minister was not involved in the case, why did he register challan.
The DIG replied that the challan was registered by the crime branch of the police not by the minister.
The CJ said that if the case was fake, why the FIR had not been cancelled.
“No one can be exempted, either big or small and everyone is bound to obey the law of the state.” the CJ remarked.
Muhammad Hussain’s mother informed the court that they had arranged everything on their personal resources, including hotel’s payment in Karachi, adding that her son’s NIC was used to trap him.
