Parliament Lodges’ illegal occupants to bite the bullet

The National Assembly’s Library Committee, at a meeting, has decided to launch an operation against illegal occupants in lobbies, side rooms and servant quarters of Parliament Lodges.
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi presided over the meeting of the committee. The members of the committee said that illegal occupants in the lobbies and side rooms of the Parliament Lodges were a permanent security threat and disturbing the privacy of the families residing in the building.
The committee directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to issue notices to all those illegally residing in the lobbies to vacate them and collect the particulars of the occupants of servant quarters. The committee decided to launch an operation against the illegal occupants next week.
PM to address public meetings in Punjab: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has asked Minister of State for Interior Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, who is also PP Central Punjab president, to organise the party in the province and reach out to the people as the forthcoming elections are not far way off.
The prime minister said this to Imtiaz Safdar Warraich during a meeting at the PM’s House on Wednesday. The prime minister said he would soon visit the Punjab and address public meetings besides interacting with the party workers and leaders as suggested by Imtiaz Safdar Warraich.
The minister appreciated the prime minister for taking concrete steps which reduced load shedding in the country. He said that people were already feeling the difference as power generation had increased as a result of the government’s decisions.
