Lawyers community across the country on Thursday continued protest demonstration against the contempt of court bill passed in Senate and National Assembly on second consecutive day.
According to details, demonstrations were held by legal fraternity in Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Peshawar and others cities of the country to express solidarity with judiciary.
The lawyers completely boycotted court proceedings in lower courts on the call of their respective bar associations across the country
The lawyers lamented that the bill is another conspiracy against judiciary, adding that the government was trying to undermine the freedom of judiciary.
Condemning government’s move to pass this bill, the lawyers rejected the contempt of court bill.
The people were facing massive problems due to protest of lawyers in the courts.
