DC asks for effective price control during Ramadan

The Deputy Commissioner Matiari Farukh Shahzad Qureshi has asked the officers of relevant departments to strictly ensure the price control on essential commodities during the month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak and initiate stern action against the hoarders and profiteers so that the people could get the items of daily usage on fixed rates of the government. The Deputy Commissioner Matiari issued such directive while presiding over a meeting at his office on Wednesday regarding price control on essential commodities during the month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of wholesalers and retailers. He lamented those black sheep among the business community who created artificial shortage of essential goods and later sell the same with their own fixed rates during Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, however, he maintained that the government would not tolerate such hoarding and profiting in the holy month and take stern action against them. He asked the officers concerned to pay surprise visits to fruits and vegetable markets as well as goods shops and ensure the selling of essential commodities on the rates which fixed by the government. The Deputy Commissioner, on the occasion asked about the prices of essential commodities from the representatives of wholesalers and retailers and advised them to ensure selling of quality products else action will also be taken against those who found in selling the substandard goods.

The LL.B. Final Annual will commence from July 17. This was announced by the Controller of Examinations of the University of Karachi, on Wednesday. The candidates have been asked to collect their admit cards and examination programme from the respective colleges, it was further stated.
