Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas has emphasised the need of undertaking far-reaching steps for the eradication of polio. He was presiding over a meeting in his office here on Wednesday over the matters pertaining to the Sindh health department. Raja Abbas directed the chief secretary that far-reaching measures should be taken to eradicate the polio. He also warned that no dereliction would be tolerated in this regard. It was pointed out that a three-day anti-polio campaign would commence from 16th during which some 7.6 million children would be administered polio drops. For this purpose, 20,300 teams have been formed and every team consists of two vaccinators. The chief secretary stressed that the anti-polio campaign should be actively monitored and that the standard of the medicine should also be ascertained. Proper security measures should also be adopted, he further directed.
