‘Qasmi’s love for Islam, Pakistan rare in progressive writers’

Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi’s commitment and love for Islam and Pakistan is rare, especially in progressive writers.
These views were expressed by Prof. Fateh Muhammad Malik while presiding over the Qaumi Adbi Seminar on eminent poet, short story writer, intellectual and editor “Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi” arranged by Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).
Yusuf Hassan and Dr. Naheed Qasmi were the chief guests. Abdul Hameed, Chairman, PAL thanked the guests. Dr. Ehsan Akbar, Jalil Aali, Prof. Hameed Ullah Hashmi, Zia-ud-Din Naeem, Farheen Chaudhry and Nelofar Iqbal expressed their views. Aftab Zia paid tribute to Qasmi and presented a poem. The proceedings were conducted by Dr Abid Siyal.Prof. Fateh Muhamamd Malik further said that the whole life of Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi is an example of struggle for the promotion of literature.
Dr. Naheed Qasmi said that Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi’s writings are not only a source of conveying a message of humanity and friendship to the people and also strongly express the emotions of Nationalism as well. She said that the dominant characteristics of Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi’s art are his good heartiness and truthfulness.
Yusuf Hassan commented that Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi is a major writer in the progressive tradition in Punjab and has a fame throughout Asia. He produced great literature which will keep his name alive for a long time.
Dr Ehsan Akbar said that stories of Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi focused mainly on trust. A prominent aspect of his literary personality is the promoter of the young writers.
Jalil Aali remarked that Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi’s writings reflect as many dimensions of our cultural and intellectual traditions as are not found in any other writer. Farheen Chaudhry appreciated Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi’s habbit to promote new writers.
Neelofar Iqbal said that Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi has made his mark in literature.
