Federal Minister for Water and Power Ahmad Mukhtar on Tuesday announced that there would be no load shedding of electricity across the country during the holy month of Ramazan.
Speaking to journalists at the Karachi airport, the minister claimed: “Some 6,000 Megawatt electricity has been added to the system since I have assumed the charge of my office, and now the total power generation has reached 14,000 Megawatt.”
He said the government had been doing its best to reduce power outages in the country and they had been somehow successful in this regard.
To a question, the minister said the decision on rental power houses would be made in accordance of the final judgment of the court.
Talking bout the Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC), he said: “The KESC is part of the country. We will find out some solution by looking into the matter of over-billing, fast meters and addition of extra units in electricity bills.”
Ahmad Mukhtar said the government would recover payable dues of electricity bills from all the thieves irrespective of their offices and political affiliations.
