The number of deaths has mounted to eight due to ongoing violence in the city during the last 24 hours.
According to police, a youth’s body was recovered from Malir River on Tuesday morning which could not be identified.
A man was killed in a firing incident in Sohrab Goth. Meanwhile, a police mobile van came under gunfire attack near Civil Hospital wherein a police constable Hasnain Raza was injured.
In another incident of firing near Shafiq Morr, a man was killed and two others were critically injured. Meantime, the residents of Water Pump, Yousuf Plaza, mounted protest against the target killing spree in progress in the city. The protesters blocked the Shahra-e-Pakistan.
A tortured body of a man was retrieved from a water tank from Shafiq Colony in Federal B Area. Body of a youth who was earlier abducted, was found near Lucky Coach Bus Stop located near Bhains Colony in Landhi.
Another firing incident occurred near Hasan Square where a rickshaw driver, Sadiq, was injured when gunshots were fired at his rickshaw. A youth was injured in a firing incident in New Karachi Industrial Area.
Abul Isphani Road remained in the grip of tension and violent protests after killing of an activist of a political party on Monday night.
As many as six people were also reported injured in firing incidents in different localities of the city.
Meantime, police arrested Irfan, an operative of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Pak Colony.
