The Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench freed here on Monday, 26 peasants who were allegedly serving under a debt bondage of a landlord in village Pako Thar in Badin district. The petitioner, Raju Kohli, prayed before the bench of Justice Shahid Anwar Bajwa that his family remained under the bondage for over 3 years at the agricultural lands of the landlord Haji Fareed Chandio. He said that they had been tilling the lands of Chandio and his family for the past 17 years. The freed peasants included four men, five women and 17 children. Earlier, SHO Ayub Khaskheli of Kadhan police station recovered the peasants on the court order from the landlord. He produced them before the court on Monday which liberated them.
