Mukhtar claims no power outages in Ramazan

Water and Power Minister Ahmad Mukhtar said on Tuesday that there would be no load shedding of electricity across the country during the holy month of Ramazan.
Speaking to journalists at Karachi airport, the minister claimed, “6,000 mega watt electricity has been added in the system, since I have assumed the charge of my office and now the total power generation has reached up to 14,000 megawatt.”
He said the government was doing its best to reduce the power outages in the country and in this regard somehow we remained successful.
To a question, the minister said the decision on Rental Power Houses would be made in accordance to the final judgment of the court.
Talking about Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC), he said that KESC was part of the country adding, “We will find solution and look into the matter of the masses of Karachi regarding over-billing, fast meters and addition of extra units in electricity bills.”
He said the government would recover payable dues of electricity bills from all thieves whether it would be small or big electricity stealer.
