An Air India flight heading for New Delhi from Abu Dhabi with 130 passengers and crew on board made an emergency landing at Nawabshah Airport after developing a technical fault on Monday. The Airbus A320 flying from Abu Dhabi made an unscheduled stop at Nawabshah airport, around 230 km northeast of Karachi, Pakistan Civil Aviation spokesman Pervez George told AFP.
Another plane brought engineers from India to fix the fault in the hydraulic system and took the passengers to New Delhi, he said.
After the emergency landing, the Indian captain was offered use of the airport lounges for the flight’s passengers and crew, but he declined.
“We offered full cooperation to them but the Airbus captain did not allow the passengers to disembark and only requested drinking water,” said Sultan Hasan, spokesman for Pakistan International Airlines.
