DG Health asks people to take precautionary measures

Director General Health – Sindh, Dr. Ferozuddin Memon has urged people to take necessary precautionary measures to avoid water borne diseases in the up -coming rainy season.
Addressing a meeting here on Monday at his office DG.Health said that
the virus and bacteria grow in monsoon season and increasing number of patients suffer from water born diseases including gastroenteritis, food poisoning, vomiting, fever and other diseases. He said consumption of contaminated water may cause loose motion, diarrhea, Hepatitis A and E.
Dr. Ferozuddin Memon said gastrointestinal ailments and dehydration are common not only among children also in adults and that these occur because of consumption of unhygienic food and unsafe water. He said precautionary measures including the use of boil water, properly cooked and fresh food can help control relevant ailments. He also advised people to avoid use of over ripe fruits and vegetables and ensure proper disposal of garbage and other refuse. About dysentery, typhoid, cholera and malaria he said these are common water borne diseases and are due to contaminated water.
