Special Children from Special Education Centers functioning under the Directorate General of Special Education & Social Welfare excelled in the matriculation examination conducted by Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE) for Academic Year 2012.
A total of 24 students, 13 boys and 11 girls, appeared in the exams from National Special Education Center for Hearing Impaired Children, H-9 Islamabad and the result of the Center remained 100%. Sana Ashraf scored highest marks 852 and got 1st position; Sehar Rubbab scored 787 marks and got second position and Marryam Rafique scored 780 and got 3rd position among the student.
A total of 11 students from National Special Education Center for Visually Impaired Children appeared in the matriculation exams and the result of the Center remained 99%. Amna Azhar scored 841 marks and got 1st position, Muhammad Fareed-ul-Hassan scored 773 marks and got 2nd position; Tahira Kausar scored 765 and got third position. A total of 09 student appeared in the matriculation examination from National Special Education Center for Physically Handicapped Children and the result remained 89%. Kamran Khan of National Special Education Center for Physically Handicapped Children got 1st position and scored 683.
Syed Mustafain Kazmi, Director General Special Education & Social Welfare congratulated the students on competing with normal schools children and shown extraordinary results in the matriculation exams conducted by FBISE for the academic year 2011-12. He appreciated the efforts of National Special Education Center’s Principals and teachers for the efforts put in for the preparation of the children for the examination. He further said that these students have worked extremely hard and shown commitment, courage and desired to become productive segment of the society despite of being having some sort of disability. It is evident from the results that their disability is not detrimental of their potential and intellectual capabilities.
