The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced that it could send a questionnaire to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in the rental power case if required. Holding a press conference at NAB headquarters, the bureau’s spokesman said that the name of Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had been put on Exit Control List while he was a federal minister, adding that investigation on the issue were still underway. The spokesman said that the new prime minister had assured that he would appear before the accountability watchdog in case he was summoned. “NAB may send a questionnaire to the PM if needed,” the spokesman said. He further said that NAB had restrained the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) from issuing waiver to five cellular companies in Rs 47 billion worth of tax evasion. He said that action might be taken against the FBR Chairman if he would be found responsible.
