Five prisoners released from Indian jails reached home through Wagah border here on Saturday.
According to details, Indian authorities as part of goodwill gesture released five prisoners who were handed over to Pakistani authorities at Wagah border.
The released persons included Muhammad Shakir, Muhammad Anwar, Yaseen Ali and Ramzan hailing from different cities of the country and they were detained in India over minor crimes including mistakenly crossing the border.
The families and relatives warmly welcomed the returning persons and were garlanded upon their crossing the border point.
Muhammad Shakir, one among the released prisoners said that he was taken into custody when he mistakenly crossed the border. “I had to spend eight years in Jammu jail over a minor mistake and an now very happy to be able to return to family,” he said.
