Heavy monsoon lashes cities

Several areas in Punjab witnessed the first spell of monsoon, as rains brought the mercury down much relieving people from summer heat and consistent loadshedding.
Dark clouds overcast the city early Sunday morning, cold winds started blowing and then several areas started receiving heavy rains turning the weather quite pleasant.
Dera Ismail Khan received maximum rain up to 76 millimeter during the last 24 hours, plunging the low areas of the town under accumulated stagnant water.
Met Department said that Sargodha received 71mm rain during last 24 hours, while Risalpur 57mm, Jhang 52mm, Faisalabad 46mm, Toba Tek Singh 37, Jauharabad 30mm, Nurpoor Thal 26mm, Bhakkar 25mm, Multan 15mm, Mianwali and Parachanar 12mm each and Malam Jabba and Kotli 10mm each.
