In an effort to save its funding from a Japanese company named Jayaka, the Government College of Technology, Lahore, gave last year’s paper to this year’s students to raise their pass percentage, City 42 reported.
According to details, the students of a course titled ‘Architecture Technology’ need to pass this particular exam for them to pass the entire course. This course is being funded by and being offered in collaboration with a Japanese company Jayaka, which had threatened the college administration that if the pass percentage was not raised up to the required standard, the funds would be stopped. Sources said in order to facilitate the students the teachers who set the exam paper repeated all of the last year’s questions. Prof Tariq Malik, a lecturer, said strict action would be taken against those who were responsible. There were no reports of the examination being cancelled.
