Demand for reducing fares gets stale

Former members of provincial and national assembly belonging to Jamaat-e Islami said that there was no justification of keeping transport fares and selling of essential commodities at previous rates.
The government should issues a new notification on reduced transport fares and prices of essential goods.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Muzaffar Hashmi, Laiq Khan, Nasarullah Shaji, Yonus Barai and Hameedullah Advocate said that the traders, retailers and wholesalers of essential items and transporters did not hesitate increasing prices and fares immediately after increase in POIL prices but at the time of cut in POL prices, prices of essential goods and transport fares were deliberately kept at previously increased rates.
They said that despite reduction POL prices in International Markets, the benefits of such reduction were not transferred to common man. The profiteers were minting money by selling groceries and essential commodities while the transporters were receiving fares as per their will.
