Rawal Town municipal administration has decided to demolish illegal constructions in the city. Earlier, during a recent operation, the TMA demolished illegal extensions of five commercial buildings while one house was sealed in the town.
According to a TMA Rawal Town spokesman, the ongoing operation against illegal constructions had been accelerated on the special instructions of the administrator of Rawal Town and strict action was being taken against the violators of the law.
Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa has directed the officials concerned to conduct a comprehensive survey in this regard so that a strategy could be adopted and the violators of the rules could be dealt with in accordance with the law. The staff of the department concerned conducts raids and demolishes illegal constructions in the city areas, he said. He said that after the solid steps taken in this regard, the revenue generation has also increased considerably as now the citizens are submitting their building plans to get formal approval.
It is pertinent to mention here that a special demolition squad for removing illegal structures from the city areas has recently been formed by the TMA.
Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Chauhdry Liaquat Ali said that the increasing number of constructions without getting prior approval from the TMA has compelled the administration to take solid steps in this regard. He said the TMA officials have also been warned to improve their performance otherwise stern action would be taken against those violating the rules. He said officials with bad reputation would not be tolerated.
Water shortage in Potohar Town irks residents: Shortage of water supply in the different areas of Potohar Town has made lives of the residents miserable.
The residents of Adiala Road, Dhamial Road, Chakri Road, Dhama Seydian, Munwar Colony, Kalial, Dhoke Juma, Dhamial, Bank Colony, Liaquat Colony, Quaid Azam Colony, Nai Abadi and Dhoke Munshi have been facing water shortage but the authorities concerned are least interested to resolve the issue.
Talking to APP, Muhammad Sajid, Waleed, Iqbal, Ansar Khan, Ahsan and other residents of the affected areas said they were facing great difficulties due to water shortage, but the authorities concerned were paying no heed. A number of complaints have been registered, but the water supply situation could not be improved, they added.
