SBP asks field officials to hold Punjab Youth Festival in a befitting manner

The Sport Board Punjab has urged all of its divisional, district and tehsil sports officers across the province to start preparations for holding the upcoming Punjab Youth Festival 2012 in a befitting manner.
Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar here on Monday presided over the meeting which discussed ways and means for holding sports events of the Youth Festival in respective, divisional, district and tehsil shortly after Eid-ul Fitr.
“It is a challenging task and we must accomplish it in a professional way by holding the sports and other events of the festival by making top of the line arrangements,” said Usman Anwar while presiding over the meeting.
In the initial assumption, every field officer highlighted the elementary problems they were facing at their respective divisions and districts.
Usman Anwar responded to all the problems, urging them to work with commitment and devotion for achieving a collective cause of making the festival a big success.
“It is going to be one of the world’s biggest festivals which will involve people from various walks of life in sports and other society building activities,” said the DG.
“Pakistan has the hidden talent which needs to be polished and brought to the fore and the Youth Festival would provide them a platform to excel and show their skills,” he said.
”We should be proud of being the organisers of this festival which is going to be the part of Guinness Book of World Record,” he maintained.
In the end, he encouraged all the officials to conduct the events actively and avail this historic opportunity to prove their sportsmanship.
