Federal Minister for Postal Services Sardar Muhammad Gorgaij has suspended the post office officials in Dharki, Sindh, for reportedly being involved in the dacoity of Rs 2.2 million of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
The suspended officials include Divisional Superintendent Post Office Sukkar Ahmed Ali Bhati, Mail Peon Khambhra Post Office Altaf Hussain, Postmaster Khambhra Hazoor Bux Soomro and Postmaster Ubauro Ghulam Rasool Dhondho, said a press release issued here on Monday. The officials were suspended on the charges of reported involvement in the dacoity of Rs 2.2 million of the BISP, supposed to be distributed among the poor people via the post office. The minister has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
