The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday released the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Director General (planning) Ghulam Sarwar Sandhu in contempt case.
A bench of IHC on Tuesday resumed the hearing of contempt case against DG planning CDA. The court besides release orders of Ghulam Sarwar, directed Chairman CDA to submit details of his assets by July 13.
The court also asked the chairman to submit details of Sandhu’s Dubai visit.
The Counsel to DG planning told the court that his client did not intentionally conducted contempt of court therefore he should be released.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui in his remarks said that corrupt elements like Sandhu were black spot on CDA body.
He said that influential people could not affect the court’s proceedings and accused would be brought to book.
Earlier on Monday, the IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, while initiating contempt of court proceedings against the CDA director general (planning), sent him to Adiyala jail saying the act of Sandhu is liable to punishment under section 5(1) of the contempt of court ordinance 2003.
