Emergency flood centres set up in Rawalpindi

The city district government has finalised arrangements to tackle possible flood in Nullah Leh during the monsoon.
The areas along the Nullah Leh have been divided into four sectors where emergency flood centres have been set up, which would be controlled from the office of the district coordination officer. “These centers will operate round the clock to meet any eventuality,” Municial Services Executive District Officer Imtiaz Malik said on Monday while addressing a meeting to review arrangements with regard to the coming monsoon season.
Imtiaz Malik asked the concerned staff to remain vigilant as no negligence will be tolerated at any cost. The EDO urged the citizens to cooperate with the municipal staff, the citizens should not throw garbage in streets and nullahs.
The EDO was informed that the dredging work of nullahs in Nadeem Colony, Javed Colony, Kurri Road and Farooq-i-Azam Road has been completed. Later, the Municipal Officer also visited the Potohar Town areas. He appreciated the sanitary workers who are working in cleanliness campaign.
