Minister for Capital Administration and Development (CAD) Nazar Muhammad Gondal, taking notice of delay in the completion of the cardiac centre at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), on Monday directed the authorities to fix responsibility so that action could be initiated.
Chairing a meeting on the cardiac centre project here, he said this negligence was unacceptable as poor patients could not afford such an expensive treatment at private hospitals. The project, if completed, will provide an opportunity to the needy and poor families to get heart treatment at a public sector hospital, he added. The minister said that he had directed completion of the project by the end of June, but the administration failed to honour the commitment. “I want responsibility be fixed for the gross negligence,” he added. He said weekly progress report of the project must be submitted to the ministry and he must also be apprised of the development of the project.
