People demand reduction in transport fares

Despite cut in prices of petroleum products and CNG, the commuters of twin cities have been forced to pay the newly hiked fares according to the new fare list issued by authorities.
According to new rates, the transporters increased fares from 5 to 7 rupees stop by stop for local route No 127, route no 110, route no 120, route no 103, route no 1, route no 21.
The stop by stop fare was Rs 12 previously, which has been increased up to Rs19.
The commuters complained that public transport in the twin cities is the worst in the country demanding that a decent transport facility should be immediately launched in order to give some relief to travelers.
The commuters demanded of the concerned authorities to take notice of the situation and to issue directive in this regard.
The residents of twin cities have warned the concerned authorities of violent protests if the new fare list was not canceled.

Sale of low quality fruits at Sunday Bazaars: Several stallholders at Sunday Bazaars of the capital are selling the unhygienic fruits and vegetables due to the negligence of district administration, the residents of twin cities said on Sunday.
The people usually rush to the Sunday Bazaars due to the fewer rates of the commodities than in the market but some vendors are busy in selling low quality fruits and deceiving the commuters by selling unhygienic commodities, while the vendors are of the view that they sell germ-infested type of fruits on a very low rate.
The residents of the twin cities demanded of the administration to take stern action against the vendors who are selling low quality fruits and vegetables in the Sunday Bazaars of the capital city.
Saidpur village facing water shortage: The rural area affiliated with the federal capital, Saidpur model village, is facing acute shortage of water for domestic use and the water supplied to the area is filled with impurities.
The local residents have demanded of the concerned authorities to ensure constant water supply to the area.
In addition to the problem of scarcity of water resource, dirty water from the hotels located on the Margalla hills mixes with the water of the streams flowing down to the Saidpur village.
The local residents were of the view that Capital Development Authority supplies water to the area from these water streams with a mix of filth in it.
They have asked CDA to separate the route of sewerage water from the streams so that supply of clean water might be enabled to the area.
Hundred of trees ablaze at F-9 Park: Hundreds of trees were fired up due to the fire eruption in two different places of Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9 Park).
The fire erupted in grass and extended towards trees, but later on fire was extinguished by the concerned authorities.
In other incident fire erupted in green area of Ayub Chowk, later on CDA environment staff and Fire Brigade staff extinguished the fire.
Residents of the nearby sectors have demanded of the concerned authorities to ascertain the reasons behind the fire eruption incidents and save the health of people and natural beauty.
