Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that general elections will be affected if local government polls were held during the present year. He was talking to media men at the Sukkur airport on Sunday.
“We are discussing with our coalition partners over the subject of local government election, if new law was made then general election will be delayed and we have informed Supreme Court about the matter”, Shah stated.
He said the people who are opposing Zulfikarabad project, they do not want to see progress in Sindh and Chinese are not only working in Zulfikarabad but in various other areas too. He added that this project is in favor of Sindh as the government is going to make Zulfikarabad an economic zone. “Earlier 300 million dollars were gone back to World Bank due to such kind of news, it is our performance that we are going to get 156 million dollars now and China has agreed to invest again in Sindh because of the visits of President Asif Ali Zardari to China”, Shah said. Shah said it has been forecasted that Sindh will have more rains than usual this year and they have started their efforts to counter the dangers pose by rains.
“Last year, Sindh had experienced a lot of loss due to rains and floods and we had facilitated more than 9 million affected persons on daily basis”, Shah said, added that, “We have made LBOD and other drains of such types that water of rains and floods will easily flow towards sea”.
He stated that government has served at its very best for the last four years and they have built 2000 kilometers road during the current year.
“Eleven district hospitals have upgraded and their inaugural will be done within 2 months, we have raised budget of health and education sectors by 2 percent”, Shah said.
CM Sindh stated that media should give coverage to their good works and now it should quit its policy of “I can’t believe”.
Soomro says election to be held in March 2013: Sindh Minister for Law and Prisons Muhammad Ayaz Soomro has said that no conspiracy against the PPP government will be succeeded as PPP will complete its tenure and general elections will be held in March 2013.
He said this while distributing appointment orders from BPS 02 to 07 in Education Department at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Auditorium Hall of Peads Surgery Children Hospital Larkana on Sunday.
