The Difa-e-Pakistan Conference leadership has reiterated that they would not allow the restoration of NATO supply routes. They also asked the government to get rid of the US war against terrorism, demanding that it also sever all ties with Washington. Talking at a convention at the Jamaat-e-Islami headquarters in Karachi on Sunday, DPC leaders Maulana Samiul Haq and Hafiz Saeed said the pullout of American troops was essential for peace in the region. JUI-Ideological leader Maulana Asmatullah and JI leader Asadullah Bhutto also dubbed the rulers’ move to reopen NATO supply as their incompetence. The convention also approved motions which condemned US officials’ behaviour with DPC member Sheikh Rasheed in the US and release of Dr Afia Siddiqui.
