Clinton phones Raja Pervaiz Ashraf

United States (US) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke to Prime Minister (PM) Raja Pervez Ashraf over the phone on Sunday and congratulated him on assuming the PM’s office. Clinton expressed hope that relations between the US and Pakistan would improve during his tenure as prime minister. She said that Pakistan and the US were partners in the war on terror and would succeed in defeating the common enemy. Ashraf thanked her for the felicitation and said that the government and the people of Pakistan were committed to fighting terrorism. He added that Pakistan had suffered the most due terrorism but its resolve to defeat the menace remained unwavering.
