The board of directors, Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority (KFHA) has approved the surplus budget for the financial year 2012-13 with an estimated income of Rs 408.925 million and Rs 408.457 million as expenditure.
The board which met under the chairmanship of minister for fisheries Sindh/chairman KFHA Zahid Ali Bhurgari here Friday, for the first time allocated an amount of Rs 145 million for the development and maintenance of the Karachi fish harbour.
Abdul Ghani Jokhio, Managing Director KFHA presented the budget and briefed the Board that the volume of budget of next fiscal year has been enhanced three times as compared to the previous year.
Justifying the allocation he said that with great and gracious support of Board confidence of the stakeholders of KFHA has been restored and now all users are paying their dues.
He further added that apart from the regular budget, the Government of Sindh has allocated Rs 559.909 million for the development works in 2012-13 under the ADP scheme under which schemes of water supply system with 0.5 million gallons per day reverse osmosis plant, sewerage network with Sewerage Treatment Plant, Fire fighting system, roads, rehabilitation of existing pontoons and jetties, repair and maintenance of hora jetty, check post in channel and CC TV system will be under taken.
He also informed the Board that KFHA is going to computerized the entire system of the Karachi Fish Harbour and for this purpose contract has been awarded to private IT firm. This all development and uplifting certainly made the Karachi Fish Harbour for contest ISO certification.
PDP chief calls on CM: Pakistan Democratic Party (PDP) President Basharat Mriza called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House here on Friday.
Special Assistant to CM Waqar Mehdi, Rashid Rabbani and Siddique Abu Bhai were also present on this occasion. They discussed the current political scenario in the country as well as matters related to mutual interest.
