Water supply to the cantonment area has been interrupted as underground supply line has cracked at several places due to the renovation work going on at Chohr Chowk.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the extension plan of Chohr Chowk on March 3, 2012, and the work was started after a delay of two months. However, the water supply network was badly affected due to excessive digging and use of heavy machinery.
Sources said water supply was restored many times through repair of water supply network, but every now and then heavy machinery destroys the supply line.
This has caused the water shortage problem for local residents to face and in addition, a large quantity of water is wasted.
