Riphah Academy of Research and Education(RARE), a constituent institute of Riphah International University, organised a four-day workshop on ‘Constructing an Effective Problem-Based Learning Package’ for faculty members of different medical colleges of Rawalpindi and Islamabad at Al-Mizan campus in Rawalpindi. The aim of workshop was to help the educators in developing the skill to write effective cases, triggers and problem based learning packages to support learning and conduct PBL session for undergraduate medical curriculum. It provides a credible platform for health professionals for learning so as to face challenges in educational trends.
The workshop was conducted by a renowned educator Rukhsana Hussain Malik from University of Teknologi, MARA and Malaysia.
It was attended by faculty members of Islamic International Medical College (IIMC) Rawalpindi, Islamic International Dental College Islamabad, Peshawar Medical College, Peshawar, Shifa College of Medicine, Islamabad, Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi, Yusra Medical and Dental College Islamabad and Margalla Institute of Health Sciences Islamabad.
IIMC Principal Prof Masood Anwar expressed the resolve that RARE attached high priority to the faculty development at the universities and the health education institutions. He said this learning exercise would prove extremely useful to prepare the faculty for the contemporary needs of the medical education. Prof Dr Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of Riphah International University, distributed certificates among the participants of the workshop.
