Protest against water shortage

Citizens held a demonstration in Hyderabad on Friday to lodge their protest against the shortage of water. The protesters set tyres on fire which led to traffic jams. According to reports, hundreds of protesters took to Qayyum Road and burnt tyres. The protesters also chanted slogans against the government. They said that there was no supply of water for the past three days. The protesters said that they lodged several complaints with WASA officials but nothing had been done to resolve the issue. They called for an immediate resolution of the problem. The residents of the area said that the water board and tanker mafia had created this situation and were least bothered about the people’s suffering.
