The Finance Ministry on Friday approved a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, announcing that the new prices would be effective from July 1.
On Thursday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had sent a summary to the ministry for its approval on reduced prices.
According to the new rates, the price of Petrol has been reduced by Rs 5.20 per litre, High Octane by Rs 6.44, High Speed Diesel by Rs 2.48, Light Diesel by Rs 2.86, and Kerosene Oil by Rs 2.54 per litre.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Petroleum has approved a decrease in CNG prices by more than Rs 4 per kilogramme. According to the details, the ministry has approved to cut CNG prices by Rs 4.59 in Region 1, and Rs 4.20 in Region 2.
Region 1 includes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Potohar area, while Region 2 includes Sindh and Punjab.
The new prices will be effective after a notification by OGRA
on July 1.
