Confucius Institute VP back to China

A simple but graceful farewell ceremony in the honour of Dr Ge Lisheng, vice president of Confucius Institute, Islamabad, at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad, was held to pay tribute to him for his services for the promotion of Chinese language in Pakistan.
Dr Ge Lisheng, vice president, Confucius Institute at NUML, joined the university on 1st August, 2008, and managed the academic, administrative, cultural and public affairs of the institute very successfully. During his tenure as the vice president of Confucius Institute, he arranged many teachers and students. He also held cultural and social exchanges between China and Pakistan successfully to improve Pak-China relations. Dr Ge holds the degree of doctorate in Chinese Language and Applied Linguistics from China. Speaking on the occasion, NUML Rector Maj-Gen (retd) Masood Hasan said that Dr Ge has rendered meritorious services for the promotion of Chinese language, Chinese culture and bilateral relations between Pakistan and China. Dr Ge, while speaking on the occasion, said that the love and affection of his Pakistani colleagues and brothers would stay with him forever and he would remember his stay at the NUML. In the end, the NUML rector presented him a university shield and a gift to Dr Ge.
